1. Skewered Chicken (Sate)

 2. Meatballs ( BAKSO )


BAKSO or meatballs are a type of meat ball commonly found in Indonesian cuisine. Meatballs are generally made from a mixture of ground beef and tapioca flour, but there are also meatballs made from chicken, fish, or shrimp.

 Ingredients for Meatballs : 

 - 250 grams of meat with few veins and fat, cut into pieces 
- 1 egg white ( Yellow is not used )
- 2 cloves of garlic, puree 
- 2 tablespoons fried onions, puree 
- 60-75 grams of ice cubes 
- 4 tablespoons tapioca flour 
- 2 teaspoons coarse salt 
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar 
- 1/2 teaspoon ground beef stock 
- 1/3 teaspoon pepper 
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder 

 Making Meatball Sauce: 

 - [750 -1 liter] of beef bone broth 
- 2 cloves of garlic, puree and stir fry 
- 1 spring onion, tie 
- 4 stalks of celery, tied 
- Salt 
- Sugar 
- Pepper and Broth Powder according to taste

 Complementary :

- Yellow noodles, boiled 
- Vermicelli, boiled 
- Green mustard, boiled 
- Soy sauce ( KECAP )
- Cayenne pepper 
- fried onions 
- Chopped celery leaves

How to cook :

  1. Grind the meat using a chopper or blender until half smooth. Add ice cubes and egg whites, process until smooth.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, then turn off the heat. Round the meatballs by hand, add to the water with the help of a spoon that has been dipped in boiling water. 
  3. Do it until the meatball dough runs out. If you have boiled the meatballs until they float. Meatballs are ready to use. If you want to store, the meatballs should be soaked first in ice water. 
  4. Heat the beef bone broth, add the other spices.
  5. Put the meatballs, yellow noodles, and vermicelli in a serving bowl. Give enough meatball sauce. Add various complements

3. Rendang 


RENDANG is an authentic Indonesian meat dish originating from Minangkabau.
This dish is produced from a low temperature cooking process for a long time using various spices and coconut milk.

Recipe :

- beef
- 3 coconuts, take thick coconut milk and liquid coconut milk 
- 4 lime leaves
- 3 lemongrass stalks, mashed
- 4 acid grains
- 100ml cooking oil
- 5 gram salt

Beef rendang seasoning :

- 60 grams of red onion
- 50 grams of garlic
- 250 grams of big red chili
- 100 grams of galangal
- 50 grams of candlenut
- 2 grams of cloves

How to make beef rendang :

  1. Puree all seasoning ingredients by grinding or blending
  2. Saute the spices with a little cooking oil until fragrant
  3. Enter the lemon grass, lime leaves, kandis acid and salt, mix well.
  4. Pour coconut milk and bring to a boil, add meat.
  5. Cook over low heat for a few hours until the meat is tender and the spices are browned to your liking.

4. Serabi 

SERABI is a traditional market snack originating from Indonesia.
 
Serabi comes from the Java language which is the root of the word [ Rabi ] which in Javanese means [ Marry ] 

Maybe because the manufacturing process is quite short and not too long, the Javanese call it [Serabi].

Recipe : 

- 400 gr rice flour
- 200 gr wheat flour
- 300 gr grated coconut
- 120 ml coconut milk
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon Salt
- Enough warm water

How to cook : 

  1. Grated young coconut
  2. Put all the ingredients into one container
  3. Mix well 
  4. Prepare pancake mold
  5. Cook the ingredients that have been made into the mold on low heat 
  6. Wait until cooked and ready to serve 
Note : usually ( Serabi ) pancakes use round molds made of clay 

5. Jasuke 


JASUKE stands for Jagung Susu Keju (corn, milk, cheese)
Of course the main ingredient used is corn

Jasuke is usually found on the edge of the road or can be called cheap market snacks, but for the taste, Jasuke has a taste that is not inferior to restaurant food.

Recipe : 

- 3 sweet corn fruit, (remove the corn from the stem)
- 3 teaspoons butter
- cheese
- Sweetened condensed milk (to taste)

How to cook : 

  1. Steam the sweetcorn that has been removed from the stem for 10 minutes 
  2. Spread enough butter on the serving
  3. Pour the corn in a container that has been given butter 
  4. Sprinkle grated cheese to taste
  5. Add sweetened condensed milk on top
  6. Ready to serve

6. Fried bananas

Fried bananas are one of the snacks that are often found in Indonesia and around Asia.
 
This food is made from bananas that have been peeled and then smeared with a mixture of flour, cornstarch and salt and then fried in cooking oil.

Recipe :

- 10 Kepok bananas, halved
- 8 tbsp wheat flour
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 sdt vanili
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Enough water
- Cooking oil

How to cook :

  1. Mix flour, rice flour, salt, vanilla, sugar, and butter
  2. Pour water little by little, mix well until you get the right dough consistency
  3. Dip the bananas into the batter, fry them in hot oil over medium heat until golden brown
  4. Turn off the fire, lift drain. Simple fried banana is ready to be served

7. Gudeg 

GUDEG is a typical food from the provinces of Yogyakarta and Central Java made from young jackfruit cooked with coconut milk. It takes hours to make this dish. 

Recipe :

- 1 kg of young jackfruit
- 5 boiled chicken eggs, peeled
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 pieces of lime leaves
- 3 cm galangal, bruised
- 120 grams of (Jawa sugars ) dark brown one
- 1.5 liters of medium coconut milk
- 500 ml thick coconut milk

Spice :

- 8 red onions
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 5 hazelnuts
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 piece of shrimp paste
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt

How to cook :

- Cut the young jackfruit into large dice. Boil young jackfruit in water or old coconut water to taste until soft. 
- Lift and drain the young jackfruit.

Ground spices:

  1. Puree all the spice ingredients in a blender or pulverize until completely smooth.
  2. Put the young jackfruit and eggs in a saucepan.
  3. Pour coconut milk, add ground spices, bay leaves, lime leaves, galangal and brown sugar.
  4. Cook over medium heat until the spices are absorbed and the gravy is reduced.
  5. Pour thick coconut milk, Cook over fire until the gravy is completely dry.
  6. Turn off the fire Gudeg ready to be served

8. Yellow rice 

Yellow rice is a typical Indonesian food. This dish is made from rice cooked together with turmeric and coconut milk and spices.

With the addition of spices and coconut milk, yellow rice has a more savory taste than white rice.

Recipe :

- 2 cups of rice
- 4 cups coconut milk (the amount is the same as normal rice, adjust the rice)
- 1 lemongrass stalk, crushed
- 2 lime leaves
- 3 bay leaves
- Salt to taste

Ground spices :

- 5 red onions
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 cm ginger
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

Complementary :

- Fried chicken
- Tempe
- Sliced omelet

How to Make Yellow Rice :

  1. Wash the rice thoroughly, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a little oil, then stir-fry the ground spices together with lemongrass, lime leaves, and bay leaves until fragrant and cooked.
  3. Add coconut milk and salt, cook until boiling. Taste correction.
  4. Put the rice into the rice cooker, then add the stir-fried spices and coconut milk, stir until smooth. 
  5. Cook the rice in the rice cooker until cooked.
  6. Once cooked, stir the rice then close the rice cooker again and let stand about 15 minutes.
  7. Serve yellow rice along with complementary side dishes.
